ALIVE tryouts

Tonight was very good because we had auditions for our ALIVE worship team. I thought I would be so nervous about it, but after I got onstage I realized it was not that bad at all. I owe a lot to God especially for calming my nerves and giving me the words to say in the interview. My friends helped me out the most especially David, Jeremy, Paul, and Megan. If they are reading this I would like to tell them thank you for everything that they did to help me to prepare. I should find out if I made the cut in the next couple of days or so. Even if I do not make the cut that means that God has a another task that is much better for me.

S.E.W day 2

Today was our second of Spiritual Emphasis Week and tonight was amazing. I think everyone felt God's conviction laid upon their hearts. I knew that I had not been close to God, but tonight my life did a complete 180. I really don't know what else to say right now, but for those SWU students not coming to Spiritual Emphasis you are missing out on so much right now.

S.E.W day 1

Today was our first day of Spiritual Emphasis Week and it was awesome. The speaker we had was so impassioned about what he spoke about this morning. This evening's service hit pretty close to home though because he talked about our devotional time with God and that hit pretty close to home with me. It made me realize that my devotional time with God has been compromised because I would not want to make the effort to wake up thirty minutes early and have a conversation with God. After the service, the speaker took some time with students that wanted to talk to him about things. I explained to him that my devotional life with God was not that good and I needed help. He gave me some advice which if anybody is interested in I am willing to pass it on. The advice he gave me was to open my bible up to Psalms and pick out a psalm and make it my opening prayer. Then he instructed me to open up proverbs to the chapter of whatever the day I did my devotions was and read it. He also instructed me to keep a prayer journal and write down anything that jumped out and got my attention.

S.E.W

Tonight we had our prayer walk for the start off for Spiritual Emphasis Week. We had a really good turnout tonight. What we did on the prayer walk was we started off with worship, then we split into groups and went around the campus to pray. The group I was in prayed for the commuters and the adult and graduate study students. We had an awesome prayer session probably because we first started by confessing our sins to God, then we prayed for the commuters and the AGS program. Also each group was assigned a prayer leader, the prayer leader for my group was one of my best friends David. I'll keep you updated on the activities for Spiritual Emphasis Week.

Past couple of days

These past couple of days have been kinda of crazy and hectic. Yesterday, the men's soccer team had a game against Anderson College and they did not do that well against them. Since this was one of the first times that they played together, I know that they will improve before the season opener. I also got to see three friends of mine that just came back from the summer jobs on Monday, which was a very nice surprise. After the soccer game, I was asked to play ultimate frisbee by some of the students. To tell you the truth, I actually needed that frisbee game to relax because I was pretty stressed about some things. Also we had a student missions fellowship meeting or SMF and we went to play putt-putt and ate ice cream. A little later, some of my friends and I went to Wendy's for a late night snack.

First weekend at SWU

This weekend has been pretty quiet so far. Probably because just about everybody has gone home for the weekend. The first ALIVE service back was awesome and I know that tomorrow's will be just as good. I'm trying to avoid from staying up to late and breaking myself of waiting till the last minute to do my projects. The men's soccer team plays Anderson College this monday at 4. This will be one of their first scrimages together as a team at school. I'll blog a little later.

Back

Hey everybody,
Sorry I haven't blogged for a while, but I have been busy moving in. Things have been kinda crazy here right now. I am still trying to figure out how to blog. We had our first day of class today and everything went really well. Several of my friends are in most of my classes, which makes me extremely happy. I'll probably be blogging a little later tonight.

Summer Vacation

What I did on my summer vacation was work at Clarie's boutique. When I had the time I went to the movies with some of my soccer girlfriends as well as went to Jarvis Creek park to destress. Overall, this summer went by pretty quickly which I am kinda happy about because I am looking forward to going back to school. I still have a lot of packing to do so I might not be able to publish any blogs until next week.

Freshman Year

This past year was awesome for me as a college Freshmen. I made several good friends and been involved in several activities. This is my first blog so hopefully everyone likes it. I will try to get put on as soon as possible.
